The vintage Fire-King Oven Glass casserole was produced in the 1940's to 50's. It appears to have never been used. It still has the original foil label that states Anchor Hocking Glass Corp Ivory Heat Proof Fire-King Lancaster Ohio USA. It is embossed on the bottom Fire-King Oven Glass. This neat old one quart glass casserole bears the Pyrex mark used from the patent date of May 27, 1919 until 1924. The lid is marked 622 which dates to 1926-1927. These casseroles were sold with or without lids, so the lid may have been purchase a few years later. Without the lid the casserole was referred to as a baker. The metal mount with open work design is marked Royal Rochester 1262. It needs a little polishing but I will leave that to the buyer. During the late 1950's and early 1960's, Pyrex began producing colored casseroles with designs on the outside. The Cinderella Bake Set consisted of 3 opal glass casseroles with clear glass lids and handles similar to the Cinderella bowl sets: 1 pint (#471), 1.5 pint (#472), and a 1 quart (#473). The first Pyrex refrigerator dishes came out in 1949. The original sets included a 1.5 qt dish, an oblong 1.5 pint dish, and 2 1.5 cups dishes. As of 1950, the lid design changed to the continuous rib pattern. In 1959, a number of different patterns on the opal glass were produced. The dishes were advertised to use to bake,freeze, store in refrigerator, and serve.
