In the 1990s the demand for chintz, especially for the most favored Summertime pattern made by Royal Winton pushed the prices into the stratosphere. At that time when we were still doing antique shows, we couldn't keep a piece of Summertime in our booth! It sold as soon as we put it on display. That demand inspired the modern day Royal Winton Grimwades company to start producing chintz once again.
