An elegant, pretty compact in gold plate with the monogram EPD on the lid. It is 3-1/4" x 2-1/4" x 1/2", and comes with a flannel storage envelope. Inside is a mirror and enclosed powder compartment, with a velvet powder puff applicator. A pretty 3 dimensional decorative plaque by Josef Strnact Junior of Teplitz, Austria. It is 10" round, with apples painted in natural coloring and a beautiful moulded border of entwined branches. Josef Stranct opened several pottery factories in 1881, producing mainly Majolica, faience and terra cotta items. He also opened a porcelain decorating shop, which is where I believe the plaque originated.
