A very old, heavy cast horse brass with a stepped dome shape and beautiful color. It is 3 wide, with a 7/8 strap opening. Horse brass(es) were widely used in Britain in the 19th century and were worn on a leather harness strap called a Martingale. There were hundreds of designs made and they are very collectible today. A wonderful vintage cast iron bank, produced by Arcade and A.C. Williams from 1932-34, it stands 3-5/8" tall x 4-1/2" long, and is in very good shape, retaining much of its original bronze colored paint and no cracks, rust or other damage. The bank is number 757 in Andy & Susan Moore's "The Penny Bank Book". It has a turnpin instead of a screw, with upright ears and the tail curled around the right rear leg.
