This 9" long x 7" wide x 2 1/4" thick vintage string holder is quite large. The apple measures 4 1/4" x 4" with leaves and branches in its background. There are scratches with a 1/2" scratch on the apple and several slighter nicks on the bottom section. These were used to contain string which was used frequently in many households prior to the invention of tape.The string is stored in the hollowed out section of the apple and strung through the bottom hole.
