Marvelous old sterling silver souvenir spoon by the Watson Company commemorates the Great State of Illinois featuring the Illinois seal of an American eagle with a motto on ribbon in flight carrying a shield of stars and stripes at the top of the handle. Along the rest of the handle are corn stalks, fruit, and a tall pine tree obverse. On the bowl of the spoon is a depiction of Ft. Dearborn, 1880. Frank M. Whiting sterling silver pastry cake or pie server and chocolate sauce ladle is classic (Governor Winthrop, circa 1910). The handle of the pastry server has a hammered design and the engraving of a tied bow with garland and floral design. Both pieces are marked "STERLING HANDLE" and bear the Frank M.
