Small Black Americana Advertising Syrup Tin

$14 USDSmall Black Americana Advertising Syrup Tin

Home Decor:Black Americana
Vintage 1920s-30's, Longwood Plantation brand, paper syrup label with mammy serving pancakes. The label also says, "Free Sample". The label is old, and the tin it's on is vintage, but they are not original to one another. Still, a great looking piece of Black Americana, or general store advertising. The tin measures 3&3/4 inches tall. I currently have several other advertising items in my shop, and am happy to combine shipping. To see them all, type, "Advertising" in the search box at the top of ...
Black Americana Cast Iron Boy on Alligator

$38 USDBlack Americana Cast Iron Boy on Alligator

Home Decor:Black Americana
Made in the 1970's to 80's from a 1920's mold, this is an adorable metal figure of a boy sitting on an alligator's back. It has been aged (not be me!) to look older than it is, and makes a great display piece at a fraction of what the original 1920's version would cost. It measures 6 inches long, by 4 inches tall, and weighs 1 pound, before packing. Black Americana Figural Oil & Vinegar Cruets

$39 USDBlack Americana Figural Oil & Vinegar Cruets

Home Decor:Black Americana:Kitchen:Kitchenware
Here is a pair of ceramic, oil and vinegar cruets, that stand about 6&1/4 inches tall. They are in excellent condition, with the original corks, but have crazing under the glaze that shows on the white, unpainted areas. They are well done, in vintage fashion with cold paint (over the glaze) used for the red painted areas. However, they don't "feel" very old. I would guess 1990's. There are no marks, or labels, and I am pricing accordingly. They are good looking, and would make great decorator ...
Framed Black Americana Art "Poor Lil' Mose"

$175 USDFramed Black Americana Art "Poor Lil' Mose"

Home Decor:Black Americana
From mastodonstudio, the home of history's first black comic strip, R.F. Outcault's "Pore Lil' Mose".... "Mose was the lead comic strip in the Sunday color supplement of The New York Herald newspaper from December 1900 until August 1902, during the Platinum Age of Comics (1897 - 1937). Outcault is universally considered the father of the modern comic strip, with his creation of The Yellow Kid in 1895. He is probably best known today for his Buster Brown comic, which was based on his own young ...
