About Capricious Crowns & Jewels

Our Service Pledge To You:
My wish is that you are completely satisfied with your purchase. I take great pride in my designs and my workmanship. Each of my pieces are designed and hand-crafted by me. Nothing is from a kit or hobby/craft catalog or store. These are unique and one-of a kind, therefore, designs that you see on my website will not be duplicated.

I respond to all orders within 12 hours, and can ship quickly. I personally handle all the shipping, packing, and labeling of anything that leaves my shop.

About Us
A background in design and a love for jewelry was the reason I started Capricious Crowns and Jewels in 2001.

All my items are designed and hand fabricated by me, using Fine, Sterling, and Argentium Silver, Copper and Brass, gems, Vintage and Blown Glass beads.

Disclaimer and interesting facts about jewelry.

Jewelry is an adornment, and as such, care should be taken when wearing any jewelry.

Remove your jewelry while working around horses-they love to grab shiny things.

Remove your jewelry if you are going to be working on your vehicle.

Do not wear dangly earrings when you are riding through the woods.

Loose bracelets can get caught on the most innocent of things, like door handles and hooks.

Cuffs, bangles, and clasped bracelets can get caught on something and be removed and lost, even leaving marks from exiting your arm in a way you do not expect.

If you get caught on something, stop, remove the cuff from the side, or extricate the offending object. cuffs removed up off the top of your arm could leave marks, which is why cuffs should be removed sideways off the arm.

For safety purposes, many linked bracelets and necklaces with multiple links are only soldered in various places so that the links will open and not choke you.

Prong set stones, or tab set stones can get caught on materials, thus opening the stones seat and removing it.

Many mechanics remove their rings when working on vehicles.

When using buffing machines, take off all jewelry. The wheels run at a high rpm and you can lose digits this way.

Please do use common sense when you are wearing anything that could create a situation where you could be injured.

I specialize in unique artisan jewelry, in a mixed media format. From Byzantine chain work, forged Fine Silver cuffs, to Copper and vintage beaded barrettes, intricate beaded sets, and new to my designs, copper, brass, and sterling wind chimes. I enjoy the unusual as well as the classical themes, and have been inspired by the early Mexican Designers. I've been designing and fabricating jewelry for twelve years. My designs have received the top award for the last three Vintage Fashion Costume Jewelry Conventions in Providence, RI and my background is in Art and Design. I live on a small farm in Western NY State, with my horse Harry, and my NC Ditch Dog, Tutti for half the year, and we spend the other half in Southern Pines, NC or VA in horse related work. I have two grown sons, Sean a recording producer and musician (Clambake 2000) in Miami, FL, and Shane, a designer and manufacturer of FUEL CLOTHING -the biggest little company in America - in Hilton Head, SC.

I have been a licensed Antiques dealer since 1970, selling Antique and Fine jewelry, and then costume jewelry from the 50's - 70's. I still love Vintage Costume Jewelry and enjoy finding that special piece for my customers. After years of repairing my own jewelry, I wanted to be able to learn about actually making jewelry. I spent six semesters in school learning and being mentored by two very talented and generous goldsmiths; Patrice Case, and Lisa Venema. I have continued my education in this field, and am pleased to be featured in Ann Pitman's book, INSIDE THE JEWELRY BOX VOL. 3.

I am a Registered Member of Jewel Collect and CJCI, The Jewelry Ring, Miriam Haskell Group, DeLizza & Elster Group, and founder of The Jewelry Artisans Group in 2005.
