This beautiful piece of circa 1870's American Pressed Glass is shown in my EAPG books and listed with Maker Unknown. However there is an almost identical pattern called Loop and Dart with Round Ornament which is shown as being produced by the Portland Glass Company. This piece appears to be a sugar bowl without it's lid, however it may be a spooner or celery vase. This beautiful compote or comport was produced circa 1900 by Northwood Glass Company. Sometimes also called Daisy and Palm the pattern on this piece shows three plumes or fans erupting up the side of the bowl with 3 single flowers between each. The bowl has a fantastic shape with a whimsical ruffle to the rim. This wonderful example of Victorian era pressed glass is a beautiful Oval bread plate in the Scalloped Tape pattern which is also known as also known as Jewel band or Jeweled Band. Produced circa 1880 the maker is unknown according to my reference books. In excellent condition this oval plate measures 12 3/4" long and 9 1/4" wide. the edge is raised so it sits like a shallow bowl and in the center is the adage "Bread is the staff of life".| Items 1 - 3 of 3 | Page 1 of 1 |
