This is a wonderful, vintage Kokeshi doll who is also a nodder, an idea which has been popular for hundreds of years. He is marked on the bottom with the maker and Made in Japan stamp. He is traditionally painted and then covered with a coating to protect the paint. Because he is vintage, he does show some wear, but the paint looks quite nice and he has the cutest expression on her face with the round eyes and button mouth.
