The sterling marking is on his tail and a little difficult to make out, but it is there.

Vintage Jade Bead and Carnelian Monkey Necklace This superb graduated Jade bead necklace is accented by a carved carnelian monkey. There is a box clasp marked "silver" on the reverse. The jade beads are graduated in size, with the largest bead measuring about 1/2 inch across when laid on a ruler. Small black beads separate the jade beads.
