This marvelously detailed mask is decorated on the inside as well as the outside. A helpful friend of my shop has informed me that it is from the island of Java, with the color applied through the process of batik. It is made of Balsa, and is in Excellent Condition (some slight rubbed areas from being packed on the way back to the U. S.) A full 12 inches tall and about 9 inches across.
