Hair Receiver with 6 pointed star shaped by pink flowers

$55 USDHair Receiver with 6 pointed star shaped by pink flowers

Home Decor:Ceramics:Vanity
This is an exquisite hair receiver! I've never seen one like this. The lid is decorated with a 6 pointed star shaped by pink blooms, green garlands, and green foliage. The design is complemented on the base with similar pink blooms and green garlands. The edges of the lid are trimmed in gold as is the top edge of the base. Some of the gold has worn off. It measures about 5" in diameter and is about 2 & 3/4" tall. It is a larg-ish size as hair receivers go. The porcelain is scalloped at the top ...
Blue vintage country dresser set

$46 USDBlue vintage country dresser set

Home Decor:Ceramics:Vanity
This is what looks like an old English country dresser set. It has two powder jars, a candle holder and a hair receiver. The candle holder has places where the paint has rubbed off from wear. The hair receiver is larger than the powder jars. The whole set just looks so English country. There is a hairline crack on the rim of the candleholder. The rest of the set has no chips or cracks. It just looks worn like old county pieces do. It is so charming because it is so informal.

This is a lovely footed hair receiver from Limoges, France. The markings on the underside say P L Limoges France. These marks have been dated approximately 1930. The appearance of the design on the top suggests art deco, but the overall look of it is white shabby chic since it looks old. There is a 1/4 " surface crack on the lid that does not go through. Overall the hair receiver is about 3" high and about 3&1/2 " square. It is an unusual shape with lovely small pink roses. Hair receivers were ...

This is a lovely old Limoges hair receiver in a pale yellow with hand-painted blue flowers. The hand-painted blue flowers appear delicate and suggest very personal attention to this little piece. The shape of the base is unusual and also makes this piece more dear and one-of-a-kind. Gold and green trimmed hair receiver

$20 USDGold and green trimmed hair receiver

Home Decor:Ceramics:Vanity
All hair receivers are vintage, and this one is soooooooo pretty! This one measures approximately 4" in diameter and about 2 & 1/2" tall. They were used on a lady's dresser (primarily in the early 1900's) to hold hair to be used as stuffing for hair pieces or pillows. We now have all sorts of synthetics for those uses. This particular hair receiver combines green trim, purple flowers, and gold leaves in a particularly regal fashion. Some of the green trim has faded. Some of the gold leaves have ...
