This is a quadruple silver plate hair receiver and matching powder jar or box. They are the same size and measure approximately 4 & 1/2" in diameter and about 3" high. The makers mark is the Apollo Silver Co and each item has the number 1439 stamped on the underside. The interior of each has a golden glow so I don't know if it is silver plate on brass or on copper. I'm not quite sure what this is called, but I believe it was used to hold ashes or perhaps coal. It has lovely floral moriage on the handle. The bottom of one corner has become detached. The rectangular pan is approximately 6 & 3/4" by 4 & 3/4" and about 1 & 1/4" deep. The handle is about 3 & 3/4" long. China is impressed on the underside.

This is a royal blue cloisonne little elephant with one ear down and one ear up. His trunk is up symbolizing good luck, but his tail is also sticking out which seems unusual to me (considering the cloisonne elephants that I've seen). He is decorated as though he has a light blue or turquoise blanket with yellow trim and blue flowers covering his back. He also has green flowers on his forehead. He measures about 2 & 3/4" long by 1 & 3/4" tall and is of course adorable.

This is an extremely interesting set of 4 napkin rings. They are numbered. I haven't seen any before that were numbered. Each one has a large number on it, 1 through 4. I've seen them with names, designs, crests, but not numbered. I guess it was just a way to keep each distinguished from the other. They all have the same hallmark for Chester, England and the initials preceding the hallmark of C.P. & Co. After the hallmark there is a letter that is either an "M" or a "W." This is a set of beautiful matching cloisonne vases. They measure approx. 6 & 3/4" high and are about 3 & 1/4" in diameter at the widest part. I believe the metal underneath the enamel is brass or bronze. They have beautiful pink blue and green pastel colors in the flowers, trim, and leaves. They have no markings as to origin or makers marks. According to Kovels' 2009 guide, pieces marked China are 20th century. I presume then that these are pre 20th century.

This is a sterling silver stemmed cup. I suppose it is meant to hold brandy because of its shape. It has a letter on the front which I believe is a "T". It could be an "F" but I don't think so. The base has the word Sterling which I have tried to capture, as well as the number 990, which is the percentage of silver I believe. It is a lovely little chalice. It is approximately 3" tall and about 2 & 1/2" in diameter. There are no makers' marks that I could find.

This is a silver plated tray that is surprisingly heavy for its size. The silver has worn off in places where you can see the copper underneath. It is about 9 & 1/2 " by 7". There is a hallmark on the back but I don't know what it stands for completely. The first couple of letters are C and Co, and then there is an image of a castle. The castle image looks like the castle image used by the city of Exeter, England in the 1800's. It is a lovely old tray.
