About 3 years ago I attended an estate auction and fell in love with this pair of vases. They were so beautiful and stamped "Satsuma". I was not familiar with Satsuma and I'm guessing neither was the auctioneer ... at least he didn't know enough about Satsuma to know this pair aren't that ceramic art form the Japanese are known for. It was over 2 years later that I found out that what I had purchased were most like reproductions of Satsuma.
