How solemn and mature these two young lads appear. It's hard to imagine them in a playground. It is amazing the way you can see through their images on the glass. This ambrotype is set in a golden frame with raised gilt floral carvings. A very fine ninth-plate daguerreotype. This unknown young man looks quite dapper with his large bow tie. The union case features a hand tooled embossed floral print. This dag measures 2" x 2 1/2" and the case is 3/8" larger. Condition is good. Though still attached on the inside the spine has separated on the outside. There is age-related wear showing on the case as can be expected. The latch is intact and works well. The velvet has faded and has a few tiny holes.
