Home Decor:Pottery:Staffordshire:Stoneware:Canova
This is a nice example of Staffordshire Black Transfer-ware. Although the maker is not identified, it is probably Thomas Mayer's, made in Stoke on Trent during the 1830's – 1850's. The only mark on back is "Canova Stoneware". The plate is 10-1/2" in diameter and has some slight crazing and staining in the center scene. It is a garden scene overlooking a river boat and distant buildings. Sales tax must be collected for buyers living in or picking up in New York State or Massachusetts. Local ...
Early NAPCO Turkey Planter

$25 USDEarly NAPCO Turkey Planter

Home Decor:Pottery:Planter:Napco
If you've been bitten by the vintage planter bug and are a collector of those fun designs of yesterday then this is a must add. The turkey planter is NAPCO made. The label is long gone, but I've seen enough NAPCO to know their quality of workmanship. This planter, although showing its age, probably late 1940s early 1950s with the usual vintage bites and rubs, still makes a great holder for those chrysanthemum blooms at Thanksgiving or anytime throughout the fall months. Colors are season ...

Home Decor:Pottery:Candle Holder:Chamber Stick
Great standby when the power goes off. And it has a rather pronounced candle holder center with an all-around deep 1 ½ inch well to catch wax drippings; unless you use dripless candles. The holder in total, measures a sturdy 5 ¼ inch diameter; base is 4 inches in diameter. Center holder is a tapered 2 inches high. Loop handle is hefty; large enough for a man's hand. Pottery is speckled blue on white. Around the top of the candle holder is pattern; handle is solid blue. Not only is ...

Here is an unusual find, a flower pot with matching vase. I love the idea; grow plant in pot and display cut blooms in small vase. The pottery is natural color with unglazed surface. The raised floral design is handpainted with heavy glaze over top. The flower pot is glazed inside; it has a brown glazed ruffled rim edge and stands on three legs. It measures 5 inches tall with a 6 ½ inch diameter. The vase measures 4 inches high. Both pieces are is excellent condition. Mexico Co. is glazed ...

Home Decor:Pottery:Ironstone:Mayer
Here is a 19th Century ironstone plate by T.J. & J. Mayer with "Rhone Scenery", c. 1843-55. The black transfer design is of a castle along the Rhone River. In the distance are mountains and clouds. In the foreground, a gentleman and lady stroll along the riverbank. It appears they have stopped and are being serenaded by the violin player. A boat is moored just behind a wall in the river. The decorative outer trim design is a scroll, leaves and floral garland placed on a background of thin pen ...
