Two large leaves, heavily veined, form both sides of this gray teapot marked Pearl China Co. The lid is topped with a gold finial of two leaves and the handle is also gold color. The mark includes the description Hand Decorated 22 KT. Gold. The curving leaf shape of this teapot places it within the Art Moderne style of the 1930s. Homer Laughlin Co. made pottery for the Pearl China Co and the shell mark on the back of the teapot is one that Homer Laughlin used for them.
