Frank M. Whiting Co. produced these Sterling Silver shakers with glass liners and plastic screw tops, ca. 1930s. These were a great improvement over shakers with silver tops which were quickly corroded by the salt. The glass liners and plastic lids made it no longer necessary to frequently empty the salt shaker. The barrel shape design has a wide horizontal band around the middle.
