I have inherited three mink stoles. The stoles have all been stored away for many years and now "I've been saving this but..." This beautiful old stole is from the late 1940's and has soft light brown natural matched pelts. There is a collar that is 5 inches wide in the back and narrows as it comes around down the front and blends into the stole pelts. Slit side pockets are hidden in the pelt design on each side. I was with the individual who purchased this jacket 10 years ago. The clothing shop was a very exclusive woman's clothing shop. This jacket was over $70 dollars 10 years ago. The tag reads g.w Division of Graff. The jacket is very well made having a heavy duty zipper down the front. There is thin quilting only on the front body part. This beautiful old fur collar is from the 1940's or earlier. I was told that this is mink per a family member who remembers grandma wearing this in her grand style. The inside label reads Furs by Sverre Norland and Erie. Pa.. The collar can be worn buttoned onto a coat or by itself. There seems to be at least two pelts. The inside lining is a soft velvet rose color. The total length is 39 inches. There are buttons on the inside of the collar that could be removed. In researching this coat from the 1940's I found this ad from the H.S. Barney Co. The ad reads: Everything about a Shagmoor coat is trim, precise, eloquent and exclusive. No other coats have quite the same handsome flawless fabrics, patterns, fur colors and tailoring. This ad was in a news paper dated Oct.28, 1929. The Shagmoor Company started in 1920.
