The illustrations are in full color and black and white. The paper jacket cover near the top bind was wet at one time but the book cover is in good condition. I found this to be very informative as well as entertaining. This book written by Neville Williams is a biography of Elizabeth I who was the daughter of King Henry VII and Anne Boleyn. Included in the book are 16 pages of colour plates and 100 illustration in black and white. The copyright is 1972 I found this book to be very informative and entertaining Especially enjoyable were the everyday life events during that era. The first copyright for this book was back in 1916. This book is the 68th printing and was printed in 1978. There is a list of all Rhymes and a list of first lines in the front of the book. The beautiful illustrations were created in 1916 by Blanche Fisher Wright. My own children enjoyed the rhymes at bedtime when they were little. They still remember those special quiet moments.
