This beautiful antique plate is marked on the back Wedgewood& Co.Ltd,England. This mark was used by Enoch Wedgewood who was a distant cousin of the famous potter Josiah Wedgewood. This mark was used by Enoch in 1906-1908. The plate is also marked Made Expressly for R.F. Herndon & Co.,Springfield Il.. R.F. The Rockwell Colonial Classic collectors plate " Unexpected Proposal" was issued in 1986. The first plate issued in the Rockwell Colonials: The Rarest Rockwell series. The plate was crafted by the Knowles China in an edition strictly limited to a maximum of 150 firing days. The plate measures 9 1/4 inches wide.
