The 4 5 6 container has the Continental Game, O. Schoenhut Inc., Philadelphia,Pa. and made in the USA on the front.This company started to produce in 1936.In 1939-1940 the company ceased operation. The containers inside rim is a bit crushed and the colors a bit faded on the sticks. There are 26 sticks and a broken stick that can be used to play the game. The copyright on this game was 1939 as indicated on the lid. This game is from circa 1940. One tile seems to be missing but the side of the box reads 2 to 7 can play. Each player needs to have equal number of draws. The instructions were missing so I printed out the instructions of game play and have enclosed in the box which is in good condition. The Halsam Company was founded in 1917. Brother-in-laws Harold Elliot and Sam Goss ( Hal + Sam) formed the company. They founded the early method of automation of blocks and became dominate in the block and domino business. Playskool purchased Halsams in 1962. I believe this set is circa 1940's. This set is called the Double Nine Standard size #930. All of the wood blocks have the capital building embossed on the top. Each block measures 2 inches x 1 inch x 3/8 inch.
