We were told by a shop owner that this set was Bakelite. Circa 1930's-40's, this Bakelite carving set is comprised of three pieces, including a large serving fork, large knife and knife sharpener. There are no chips or cracks in the handles and there is very little wear, other than a small nick on the blade and the fork looks like it has some wear. The knife looks like it has been sharpened. Cat-Tail Grill Plates. Set of 7 Grill Plates made for Sears, Roebuck & Company by Universal Potteries of Cambridge Ohio from 1934 to 1956. These grill plates were found in my husbands Aunt's kitchen cabinets. They are really great . There are 4 in great shape with no chips or cracks.
