We were told by a shop owner that this set was Bakelite. Circa 1930's-40's, this Bakelite carving set is comprised of three pieces, including a large serving fork, large knife and knife sharpener. There are no chips or cracks in the handles and there is very little wear, other than a small nick on the blade and the fork looks like it has some wear. The knife looks like it has been sharpened.
