This is a burnished Tonala pottery horse in excellent condition. This piece has a wonderful Modern appeal and is very unique. It measures 10" long, 6" high, 3" wide. No flaws. It is whimsical and lovely in shades of tan, brown with white, black, gray & charcoal colors. The tail is painted on as is the bridle. It reminds me of the horses you see drawn in cave paintings or rock paintings of ancient times.

This is a great piece of naive or outsider art. It is art pottery fired in the raku technique. It is primitive in style and appears to be a man and a woman or two women. It looks so much better in person. I got this at an estate sale and have had it for years. It stands sort of wobbly so I've put felt pieces and a stick-um piece on the bottom (museums use it a lot to keep items from toppling). It measures 9 1/4" and is 6" wide.
