This is a wonderful bright and colorful abstract bowl made in Italy especially for Macy's. It depicts a man selling produce from his cart to a woman shopper (a very popular subject painted by DeSimone). The piece is vibrant and full of life. Colors are turquoise, red, purple, orange, yellow, dark blue, green. The bottom states "Made in Italy expressly for The Cellar". It has a diameter of 6" and stands 3" tall. This is a huge blue mug with a bright red, yellow, blue and white abstract face motif on front. Big black dots against a white background decorate the handle. It is done in the style of Picasso or DeSimone (who studied together). It is 3 3/4" diameter and stands 4 1/4" tall. The mug dates to the 1960's. It is in good vintage condition. I believe someone previously used it to store pencils and pens as there are markings on the inside bottom of the cup as well as some crazing (priced accordingly) ...
