This offering if for a beautifully unique French Fan from the mid 19th Century. The mount of the fan is constructed with lithograph paper. The guards and the blades (staves, also termed sticks) are made of semi-opaque carved horn with lavish decorations. The guards and sticks have an exquisite form and an elaborate carved pattern of sunflowers. The flowers are hand painted. There is also an abundance of hand applied gold, silver and copper gilt.
