This is in excellent condition and measures 1 1/4" tall by 1 1/4" wide. Marked Sterling 925 on top with a R and number. Marking as such usually indicated an imported or exported silver piece. Cut, polished bottom and sides. The lid has a star hole pattern and is made from Mother of Pearl. This probably belonged to a desk set for a lady or stationary set. Very nice Sander.

Classic design with smooth top and pierced bottom. There is a glass insert. The bottom piece has 4 Ball feet. There is a design along the top edge of the sterling bottom piece. The pierced areas are shaped like fans. It measures 5" across and 2 1/2" tall and weighs 6.4 ounces without the glass insert. It carries the Meriden Britannia Company mark, which was founded in 1852 in Meriden, Conn.
