This ceramic glass was a souvenir from Trader Dick's in Reno The restaurant has been known for years for their Polynesian lounge cuisine and island décor. On one side of this glazed pottery glass is a blonde girl in a bikini riding a wave. One the other side are dolphins or fish and in raised letters the name Trader Dick's with a registered mark. This colorful ceramic mug is basically a souvenir piece of Louisville, Kentucky. The 10 oz. mug is beautifully hand decorated with images of a thoroughbred horses, jockeys astride, racing past Churchill Downs' famed twin spires. This little piece of pottery is advertising the Christiania Restaurant in Ketchum, Idaho, a long time hang out of Ketchum and Sun Valley residents and visitors. It looks like a little Mexican pot with a short handle. It is made of a red clay which is glazed except for the bottom. This may have been used as a little sauce dish or perhaps an ashtray.
