This old salt dip is considered an individual as opposed to a master salt. Each person at the table would have his own little dish of salt accompanied by a little salt spoon often made of sterling silver. This oblong dish is made of white porcelain decorated with hand painted pink and blue flowers and gold embellishments. The bottom is unglazed and has the red wreath, Hand Painted Nippon mark. It measures about 3 ¾" by 2 5/16" and is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage. ...

This decorative little dish is an old Nippon piece. There is a scene of a house with perhaps a nearby, steepled church and a nice tree in the foreground. The colors are rich and the edge is trimmed in brown. There is a single handle embellished with detailed beading. The back has the green M in wreath mark, Noritake - Made in Japan. Hand Painted Porcelain Vase with Scenic Design and Gold Embellishments This old hand painted, two handled vase was probably made in Japan. The majority of the scene is on two of the four panels with a treed panel and a house at the end of a wide road. The other two panels is just the trailing ends of the scene.
