This old ice cream dipper is a Tudhope from Orillia, Ont. marked on the front portion of the thumb lever along with Made in Canada. It is made of nickel plated brass with a wooden handle. This is a size 24 round bowl (twenty-four scoops to the quart) and is marked on the thumb lever. The mechanism works well and the handle is in nice condition. The inside and outside of the bowl shows considerable wear with scratches and pitting. It measures about 10 1/4" in length. This old ice cream scoop is made of nickel plated brass with a wooden handle and was made by the Dover Mfg. Co., Dover N.H.. The patent for this dipper was filed in Oct. 1927 and issued May 1929. This was a manually operated lever rather than having a spring mechanism. This old ice cream dipper is a Fisher from Canada. The company name, Orillia Ont. and Made in Canada are marked on the front portion of the thumb lever. It is made of nickel and brass with a wooden handle. It is a size 20 round bowl (twenty scoops to the quart) and is marked on the thumb lever. This was an inexpensive scoop when manufactured. The bowl was a poorly cast and has a textured finish on the outside and a dark solder line where the bowl is attached to the shank. This old ice cream dipper was manufactured by the Benedict Mfg.Co .of East Syracuse, New York. It is marked Indestructo No.4 on the inside of the thumb lever. It is also marked Patented July 3 1928. It is made of nickel plated brass with a wooden handle. This is a small 40 size round bowl (forty scoops to the quart). This size was often used for melon balls and butter balls.
