Metropolitan Cook Book, 1922

$10 USDMetropolitan Cook Book, 1922

Home Decor:Accessories:Cookbooks:Metropolitan Insurance Cook Book
I was just reading through this Metropolitan cook book and was surprised to see so many cost-saving type recipes and/or suggestions. It would appear to be a cook book for those going through the Great Depression, but then things weren't too good in 1922, either. There are 64 pages in this softcover cook book. There are no tears or writing and the pages are clean. I was surprised at some of the suggestions, but many of them were standard procedure for our grandmothers. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad ...

Home Decor:Accessories:Cookbooks
This is a hefty cookbook with 317 pages of recipes and index. This cookbook was issued at a time when families did a lot of entertaining and church suppers were more common. $10 USDFrom Our Kitchens To Yours, First Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa

Home Decor:Accessories:Cookbooks
I don't have a date for this cookbook, but it appears to be from the 1950s. For one, the ads appear to be around that period of time and the phone numbers are two or three digits. I would say the late 40s to early 50s. Keep in mind that this church still runs a tent kitchen at the Old Threshers' Reunion, which is a huge event each year. These church tents are well known for their fabulous meals, generous servings and reasonable prices. They use quality ingredients and put out a quality product. ...

This is a beautiful cookbook and, as many of you know, the main author is no longer with us. Although many of the recipes are for special ...

I don't think anyone would argue that entrees cooked in the Presto Cooker are delicious with the flavors blending in the process. For one, a roast and veggies can't be beat when cooked in this manner. Not only do you win on the taste test, but you also save time and energy with the amount of time needed to produce a delicious meal. The pressure cooker is also a good way to utilize tough cuts of meat, as the process tenderizes beautifully. I noticed there are also recipes for wild game. This ...
