This "Apple" pattern was a winner for Franciscan and was made from 1940-84. The colors are vibrant and the hand-painting and glazing is great, so that is no surprise that it was so popular. The bread and butter plate measures 6 3/8" wide and can be used for other uses, as well. They are free of chips, cracks or crazing. Although there are 6 available, this listing is priced per plate. I am offering two groups of Franciscan "Apple" luncheon plates, because the marks are different and people like to buy certain periods of production for their Apple dinnerware. These plates measure 9 1/2" wide and are in very nice condition with a use mark here or there. They were originally owned by a couple with no children, so they were only used for their own holiday meals, but were mostly used for display. I find no chips or cracks.
