These great old Elephant Bookends with trunks up really bring back memories of the 40s and 50s, with typical pink, gold and black color scheme. Each bookend is 5 1/4" long, 2 3/8" wide and stands 4 1/4" tall and they are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, just the light crazing to be expected in pottery of that age. This is such a little treasure, a handsome two faced dog, possibly a Terrier, with wonderful hand painted features. He has very expressive eyes with lovely long eye lashes and rather a superior look on his face. He sports a red and white bow tie and is 5" tall by 3 3/4" long, the condition is excellent with no damage that I can see, just the usual light crazing to be expected in pottery this old.
