This is a rare set of four sterling silver demi-tasse coffee cups and saucers with Royal Doulton flambe inserts. The sterling cup holder and saucers are hallmarked Sheffield with a date letter that we believe is 1913, consistent with the wonderful arts & crafts styling. The sterling parts are in very good condition with minor marks from age/use that are noticeable on close inspection but do not detract from the exceptional beauty of the pieces. Bunnykins beaker covers are hard to find and were produced between 1940 and 1968 only. This delightful cover has a rather serious looking rabbit playing trumpet, encircled with running bunnies around the perimeter. The pattern is Trumpeter (EC5) and was designed by Barbara Vernon in 1937. This charming, unsigned, 3 5/8" lid was never used and is in mint condition with light age-related crazing that is only noticeable on close inspection and does not detract.

We have two of these hard-to-find beaker covers in the Hobby Horse (Style Two) design with a delightful central image of bunny riding a hobby horse encircled by running rabbits around the edge. The beaker pads were produced between 1940 and 1968 only, and this pattern, EC121, designed by Walter Hayward, started production in 1959, dating these lids to the 1959-1968 period.
