We purchased this lovely holy water font from an elderly woman who told us that it was a family piece brought with her when she emigrated from Ireland in the 1930's. As seen in the photos, the original gilding is worn and the piece exhibits the wonderful look of a cherished heirloom. We have not attempted to clean it.
