The RMS Mauretania, launched in July of 1938, was the largest ship in England at the time and the first ship built for the Cunard White Star company following the merger of the Cunard and White Star lines. The ocean liner was built for the London to New York passenger service and served as a troopship during WWII. After the war, she resumed the England-New York route and cruises to the West Indies and Mediterranean making her final voyage in 1965.
