This cute valentine card dates from the late 1940's / early 1950's. It has an attractive young woman in kerchief, a boy hiding in the dog house and a puppy. Fido jumps towards the woman when the heart is lowered. The caption reads: "Don't stay there in the 'dog-house', For you can plainly see The house was meant for FIDO - But YOU were meant for ME, MY VALENTINE!" Standing on the beach at the water's edge, this dark haired beauty discretely hides behind a large red heart and when she swivels, there is what appears to be her bare behind. This is a wonderful piece of Canadian / Torontonian ephemera in excellent condition. The Member's Card for the Police & Constabulary Bible Reading Union Canada cites the Object of the Union on the reverse, that being "Regular and Prayerful Reading of God's Word" and lists daily chapter and verse Bible readings on the interior for each day of 1904.
