This vase was custom produced on special commission for Artisans of Mexico by Xochiquetzal. The model for this design is a Pre-Columbian vase recently discovered on the site of the present-day Mexican National Palace in Mexico City (see photo). We were so struck by the modernity of the original design that we asked the artisans of Xochiquetzal to reproduce it using their own stoneware technique.
