This ironstone spittoon marked a time in history when hotels placed these around their establishments for their "chewing" guests. Today they make great potpourri holders or planters. It measures 7" across and is a creamware color with a bronze - brown color stripe....like that found in tea leaf ironstone. There is a rough spot on the edge which looks like a very old repair, and crazing on the bottom. Please look at the details to see this.
