These truly exceptional vases, hand painted with exquisite cascading budding flowers against a rich blue background, could have come straight off the mantle in the great room of a French chateau. We just acquired the pair at an estate sale and we were drawn to them immediately. The scalloped rim is edged in gold. As well, the delicately shaped handles and turned feet, are painted half in gold and half in ecru - a method which I have never seen before.
