This is the earliest piece of Stangl dinnerware I've ever seen, and one of the earliest pieces of Stangl period. This grill plate in Persian Yellow was manufactured in the late 1920's or early 1930's, as Stangl emerged out of the bankrupt Fulper Pottery. The pattern is called Primitive (line #1080), and is typical of the solid-color dinnerware popular in the years around the Depression.
